Changes

We thought Becca was coming down with her first cold this weekend, but it turns out that it may be teething. As she was giving me one of her big, sweet smiles this afternoon after I was done feeding her, I noticed a little bit of white popping out of her bottom gum. I felt it, and sure enough, there was a sharp little tooth coming through. No wonder she was so fussy on Sunday. Anyway, we promptly called Nathan at work to share the exciting news (and then both grandmas). I know a million babies have started cutting their first tooth before Becca, but this is the first tooth that my first daughter is cutting, so that makes it quite exciting. :)

And another development: Becca has been sitting up by herself. She's still a bit wobbly, but will sit up and keep balanced for a few minutes at a time without toppling over. How fun!

Pictures

If you haven't been there lately, we have both the fourth and fifth month pictures up in the gallery.
Updating my sidebar

A few additions/changes to my sidebar. I added my wishlist :) under Becca's. The hymn that I have up there is one of the songs we sing to Becca every night before putting her to bed. The other one is Jesus Loves Me. I also took off my currently reading list because I can't keep up with it and added a couple of books to what I've read:

Redeeming the Time--a book on the Christian perspective on work and leisure. I recommend it. Ryken does a good job of showing many perspectives on work and leisure before presenting the Christian perspective. The only struggle I've had with it is a lack of practical application and a bit of repetition at the end.

The Incomparable Christ by Stott is so good. He goes through four witnesses to who Christ is--the New Testament, the church, history (Christ's influence), and the book of Revelation. I especially appreciated the last one since it was a very grounded and worshipful discussion of Christ in Revelation. I also appreciated how Stott was truthful about various views and poor decisions of people who claimed to follow Christ.

I apologize for my poor reviews of those two books. I hope you read them despite my tired babbling on how good they were.
